For Easter, I was craving something fresh and spring-like. Also, chocolate. Dark chocolate to be precise. I usually make a lemon pound cake around Easter, but this year I wanted to switch it up. Feast your eyes on this fluffy cloud of deliciousness.

Elie Saab Spring 2017 Couture
With the Oscars right around the corner, it seems fitting that we explore the lovely gowns gracing the catwalks. Royal blue. Gilded crown gold. The collection’s sleek silhouettes, prim hemlines, and satiny textures is very Jackie O. meets Cleopatra. One can only hope someone, somewhere graces the red carpet with one of these lovely ensembles.

It’s as if Zac Posen thought to himself, “Hmmmm, how would Makea dress if she had her dream life?” , and then proceeded to design this collection. The Spring 2015 RTW Zac collection is lovely and understated in the best way. With bright separates that are emboldened by geometric prints and watercolors, this collection embodies the springtime’s promise of freshness. The sharp separates are the ultimate in downtown girl chic. I would happily wear it all. I’d be the best-dressed lady in line at Target. Hands. Down.
Snow Showers with a Chance for Spring
I, for one, am so ready for Spring. I love Winter and cold weather and snow. But, a girl can only take so much. I need to break free of my heavy layers and step out in open toe sandals. Along with the changing season comes the chance to finally wear the trends that we saw on the runway back in September!

This collection encompasses ethereal gothic. I totally just made that up, but it’s fitting, no? The gauzy film of the dresses and shirts looks like they will float away. They’re only anchored by the embellishment of the embroidery and the structure of the pants and jackets. Everything about this collection screams smart and classy. Pair any one of these outfits with your best “I know I look good. Don’t hate.” face and strut down the street.

Erin Fetherston Spring 2014 RTW
If you’re 16 years old and looking for a junior prom dress, this is the collection for you. If you’re a high school student of indeterminate age and you’re looking for a dress to wear to whatever high school dance functions you kids have now-a-days, this is the collection for you. Anyone else: this is not the collection for you. Was this part of a reject reel from Crazy/Beautiful? I. Can’t. Even.
The website has some awesome, grown up dresses on it, but this Spring collection is something I outgrew when I turned 17. Thanksbutnothanks.

Robert Rodriguez Spring 2014 RTW
What’s not to love about Robert Rodriguez? He makes women look hot and sexy. I don’t think anything else needs to be said. This collection had a futuristic look with a lot of hard angles, exaggerated silhouettes, and minimal color. It’s not the most vibrant Spring collection, but it doesn’t have to be.

Whit Spring 2013 RTW
I’ll admit, I was not up to snuff on Whit. But, after seeing the Spring RTW collection, I went over to their website and I am a fan. The Fall 2013 collection is superb. It includes everything that you would want to wear to work, that awkward first date, drinks with the girls, and that even more awkward dinner at his parents house. You really can’t go wrong with Whit. The fun, vibrant prints and colors of the Spring collection make you feel transformed to a tropical beach, coconut drink in hand.

ZAC Zac Posen 2014 Spring RTW
After looking through the Zac Posen Spring collection, I immediately felt like I had just gotten back from 1940s Cuba. The silhouettes are womanly and grown up. The model is drop dead gorgeous and her Veronica Lake curls are perfect. I want to know who did the make up for this photo shoot, because it is amazing. I want to purchase it all. I will gladly trade my Jeep Liberty for this collection in its entirety. Serious inquiries only.
