New Digs, Who Dis?

Don’t ever let someone tell you that moving is easy. People who say things like that are called liars. This is not an alternative fact. Moving is tough and every little thing involved with moving is annoying and frustrating. There is not one redeemable moment in the entire process. ¬†After months of scouring Zillow, Trulia, and Craigslist (*shudder*), we finally found a place that was perfect. Unbeknownst to us, that was the easy part. After settling on the two bedroom/two bathroom apartment, a mere 5 minutes from my previous apartment, we patted ourselves on the back and then realized we’d be moving in January.

I must have blocked my previous move from my memory, because I grew exhausted from packing after only one day. My little one-bedroom apartment became besieged with boxes, bags, and newspapers. Suddenly, having three walk in closets seemed like a curse, instead of a gift. Where the hell did all of this stuff come from? I had no idea I had accumulated so much stuff after 4 years. But, luckily, I am a persistent crazy person who likes to stay up all night and finish a task instead of going to bed at a reasonable time and starting fresh the next day. Yay?

After postponing the move by one day, due to snow because January, we were able to move in all of my and his stuff in one day. By the end of the following week, we were completely unpacked, decorated, and organized. And, it’s everything we wanted in a place. It’s spacious, airy, filled with natural light and hardwood floors. The first room to completely come together was the living room. Now, you may remember the pipe dream of a living room I wanted.

My living room in my bachelorette pad was never going to accommodate a full sofa, let alone two leather club chairs.

Glutton for Punishment: 10 Things I Want from the Anthropologie Fall Collection

Oh Anthropologie, the store I love to hate, but would hate to live without. It never fails that I find something that I love and immediately wish to own when I visit an Anthropologie store. Whether or not I can afford it at that moment in time is a different story. Continue reading “Glutton for Punishment: 10 Things I Want from the Anthropologie Fall Collection”

10 Crosby Derek Lam Spring 2014 RTW

This is the sort of collection that features clothes that I imagine Fashion Editors wear. Kind of avant garde and minimalist, yet trendy. There’s a futuristic vibe to this collection. Or maybe I’m full of shit and I have no idea what I’m talking about cause I’ve been looking at fashion shows ALL DAY LONG.

I mean, it’s nice.
