Say what you want about Lauren Conrad (she’s basic, she’s boring, she’s bland), but the chick has one serious business head on her shoulders. She has parlayed a reality tv show part into a mini empire that includes, books, clothes, accessories, and more.
On Wednesday night, Lauren debuted her Lauren Conrad Runway Collection for Kohl’s at NYFW. If you’ve ever seen her clothes at Kohl’s, you’ll know there are a lot of floral prints, pastels, and feminine pieces. This NYFW collection was no different. Was it spectacular? No. Was it decent enough to wear on a few girl’s nights? Yes.
Behold, I give you mediocrity:
These tent dresses are okay, but they usually on look good on tall skinny people, see above.
These long floral frocks are okay on the surface. I’m sure they’ll show up in your Facebook news feed at some point, being worn by some willowy person you know from middle school at a wedding.
I like this organza ball gown skirt. I have no where to wear such an item, but I like it. I obviously need to be invited to more galas.
This ice blue/minty color is very breathtakingly fresh. I happen to love it. And that middle number, with the lace top? GIMME GIMME GIMME
Yay! More florals….
I really like this shade of blue. Those velvety shorts look like something I had in elementary school when I was going through my Victorian renaissance.
I like all of these. I really like the outerwear pieces. I used to love sweater dusters. I’m glad they’re coming back in vogue.
That first one looks like a sad attempt at a casual beach wedding dress. The other two are great separates that sorta work together and are borderline Eileen Fisher.
Woop Woop! Another duster in the house! The middle dress is the perfect maid of honor gown for a boring girl to pick for her boring maid of honor. And I can’t quite figure out if there are suspenders on the last one of if there is a matching mini backpack hiding back there. I need closure!!!
More non-wedding wedding inspired looks.
These are my favorites looks from the entire collection. I would wear every last piece. That furry vest thing? LOVE. That moto jacket and flouncy skirt. WANT. NEED.
This dusty rose/antique lace look is quaint and kinda fits right in with her dainty femme look. Overall, not a bad collection. A few great pieces and more “meh” pieces. Should be perfect for middle America!
